But I would have to see proof of that. You mentioned that it was on Ray Paulick's site, if you could give me the URL for that site, I would really love to read it. A lot of race tracks are saying that they have a No Slaughter policy but then they keep it Hush Hush so to speak, and tell the trainers and owners that no horse can be sold to a private owner and must go to auction. The owners and trainers are not allowed to tell any Rescue farm about this or they could get in trouble. But there are people out there who love horses enough to go against that hidden truth of what the race tracks are doing. I have to admit that I'm still skeptical if Mountaineer has adopted the No Slaughter Policy. Maybe there should be another undercover filming such as HBO did, and see if Mountaineer is really holding up to what they say they have changed.Luv4Horses (Lisa)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06487747703149913746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672259201432098669.post-17085507502124490152009-01-25T21:54:00.000-05:002009-01-25T21:54:00.000-05:00It's my understanding that Mountaineer is working ...It's my understanding that Mountaineer is working on improving conditions for its runners. Last I heard, they had just instituted a "no slaughter" rule for trainers with barns there, much like the policy at Suffolk Downs. (I think it was reported on the Ray Paulick site.) Also, I think they've recently allowed a CANTER branch to operate there. I suspect the HBO publicity may have had something to do with it all....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
